Mamas Pound Cake Recipe
Being a night owl my mother made this pound cake at all hours of the night when we were growing up. It's moist, with a wonderful crust.

Ingredients
  • 1c butter or margarine
  • 1c Crisco (I use butter flavor Crisco sticks)
  • 3c sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1c milk

Directions
  1. Whip butter and Crisco until fluffy.
  2. Add sugar 1 cup at a time. Beat well after each addition.
  3. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well.
  4. Sift together flour, baking powder & salt
  5. Add one cup at a time to batter. Beat to absorb.
  6. Add vanilla to milk. Add milk slowly to batter. Beat.
  7. Pour into greased & floured tube or bundt pan.
  8. Bake at 325 for 55 to 65 minutes. Cool on rack before
  9. turning out of the pan.
