Buttermilk Pear Cobbler

- 5-6 cups ripe, sliced, peeled pear (3 pounds) shopping list
- 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon mace shopping list
- 1 cup flour shopping list
- 1 T baking powder shopping list
- 3 T powdered buttermilk shopping list
- 2 T sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup salted butter shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl; toss gently to coat. Set aside while making biscuit mixture.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, powdered buttermilk and sugar. Cut in butter with a fork until mixture is crumbly then add milk and mix.
- Spoon spiced pear mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish coated with cooking spray.
- Drop biscuit dough by heaping tablespoons onto spiced pear mixture.
- Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.
- *if buttermilk powder unavailable, substitute liquid buttermilk for milk in equal measure.
