Ingredients
  • This is a dump and pour recipe:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 c cocoa
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup hot coffee
  • 2 eggs
  • pinch salt

Directions
  1. Beat all together. This will be very thin. Pour in greased baking pan. Cake pans or 9 x13 is what I usually use. OR IN ROUND CAKE PANS
  2. bake 30 minutes @ 350. Do not overbake. . test before removing.
  3. DO NOT OVER BAKE!!! OR IT WILL NOT HAVE THAT WONDERFUL MOISTNESS.
  4. Top with your favorite buttercream or icing. Alot of times just Whip cream does it for us. My children who are now grown even love this with just powdered sugar. I Love it with buttercream or German Chocolate icing. Sometimes I make a Rasberry Buttercream.
  5. I hope you enjoy this easy recipe.

Great recipe. And easy. We were keeping the 9-month old who just learned to walk grandson and his 7-year-old brother, who wanted a chocolate cake. We needed something easy that could be made while litle squirt was getting into stuff he shouldn't. . You're right the batter is thin and you wonder if this is going to work. It does and works well. We substituted some Amaretto-flavored coffee and this is heaven. Thanks this is a keeper.

Love the way this sounds... will make it soon..

Hi Teri.I was looking for this one.

It looks like a great recipe, but it doesn't list the temperature to cook it at. Cooking at 350 degrees was not even close to long enogh in a 9 X 13 pan.

Hey could anyone please guide me as to what 3/4 c cocoa means? it cant be 3/4 cup of cocoa powder right? sorry im just a starter...

and is the cup of coffee our normal unsweetened cup of black coffee?

Cant wait to try this out. Anyone care to share the recipe of German Chocolate Icing as the topping? Pls....

This was absolutely amazing! I followed the recipe to a T, only change I did was the topping. I used two types of German Chocolate, one bitter, one milk chocolate, melted them together with a bit of milk and sugar. Poured it over top and added some chocolate sprinkles. This was a huge hit!

I just joined this today because while looking for a chocolate cake recipe...I found this site. I made THIS cake...and its an absolute keeper. Taking it to a family picnic tomorrow afternoon.
THANKS!!

I baked this cake today and i couldn't believe the result,
I made a couple of little changes and additions, I used 1 cup of brown suger and 1 of white,
I didnt have any cocoa so i used ovaltine instead and I also roughtly chopped some dark chocolate and threw that in the mix
