How to make it

  • Prepare a jelly roll pan by evenly distributing 1/2 pound of the finely chopped walnuts. Then sprinkle 1/2 pound of shredded chocolate. In a heavy sauce pan, melt butter and add 2 cups of sugar. Stirring constantly for five minutes (while boiling). Use the timer to count the time. After five minutes, add the slivered almonds and stir constantly until the thermometer reaches "Hard Crack" or 300 degrees.
  • Spoon hot butter, almond mixture into the jelly roll in small amounts and spread to completely use entire mixture. Sprinkle remaining shredded chocolate then follow with remaining walnuts. Use a pizza roller/slicer to cut the candy into 1 x 2 inch rectangles. Allow to completely cool. Remove to airtight containers and enjoy!
