- 1 # ground turkey shopping list
- 2 medium russet potatoes, peeled and cut into ¼-inch chunks shopping list
- 1 onion, finely chopped shopping list
- 4 cups AP flour, plus more for rolling shopping list
- 1 ¼ cups (2 ½ sticks) cold butter, cut into pieces shopping list
- 2/3 ice-cold water shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350
- In a large bowl combine the turkey, potatoes, onion, salt, and pepper
- Combine the flour, butter, and salt together until the mixture resembles coarse sand
- Add the water mixing with a fork or your hands until the mixture comes together
- If the dough is too crumbly, add more water 1 tbsp at a time (up to 4 tbsp) do not over-work
- Shape the mixture into 4 small disks and let rest for 10 minutes
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the disks into 10-inch circles
- Divide the meat mixture among the dough circles and shape into small loaves
- Pulling the sides up around the dough, pressing together to form a seam on top and crimp
- Transfer the pasties to a parchment-paper lined baking sheet
- Bake for 1 ¼ - 1 ½ hours until golden brown
