How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • In a large bowl combine the turkey, potatoes, onion, salt, and pepper
  • Combine the flour, butter, and salt together until the mixture resembles coarse sand
  • Add the water mixing with a fork or your hands until the mixture comes together
  • If the dough is too crumbly, add more water 1 tbsp at a time (up to 4 tbsp) do not over-work
  • Shape the mixture into 4 small disks and let rest for 10 minutes
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the disks into 10-inch circles
  • Divide the meat mixture among the dough circles and shape into small loaves
  • Pulling the sides up around the dough, pressing together to form a seam on top and crimp
  • Transfer the pasties to a parchment-paper lined baking sheet
  • Bake for 1 ¼ - 1 ½ hours until golden brown
