How to make it

  • Melt butter in medium sauce pan or large skillet. Mix in flour until smooth. Cook stirring constantly for several minutes until sauce browns just slightly. Add milk a little at a time stirring to combine completely. When you first start adding milk it will look like mashed potatoes and that’s okay! When all the milk has been incorporated add seasonings to taste. Chop leftover asparagus in one inch pieces and stir in to soup. Cook just until asparagus is hot and soup has thickened. Serve with crusty cheese breads.

    Omg asparagus is the most amazing veggie ever and none shall go to waste! I make a sauce out of the left over stalks that is similar to this. amazing!
