- 3 Cups flour shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1 Tablespoons and again 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 3/4 Cup shortening shopping list
- 1 Farm Fresh egg,beaten shopping list
- 3/4 Cup Farm Fresh milk shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the first 5 ingredients...mix well.
- Cut in the shortening until it looks like coarse meal.
- Combine the egg and milk...add to the flour mixture...stirring until dry ingredients are moistened.
- Turn out onto a lightly dusted surface...knead about 8 to 10 times.
- Roll out to one inch thickness.
- Cut with a 3 inch biscuit cutter.
- Place on a ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 450 degrees for about 15 minutes,or until nice and golden.
- When these where first made,my Dad called them "Two Biscuits Tacked On A Shingle" they are just good ole' country mile-hile biscuits.They are nice with homemade preserves,red eye gravy or just plain butter.
- No matter how you stack em' or fling em' through the air...They are DANG GOOD BISCUITS!
