How to make it

  • Cut chicken into bite sized pieces and season with salt and pepper, set aside. Give onion a large chop, I enjoy onions, but it can also be chopped finely. In a large soup pot, saute onions with a tablespoon of margarine, and season with salt and pepper for about 2 minutes. Add chicken and saute until brown. Add the chicken bouillon cubes, water, parsley, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, and carrots. Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer. About ten to fifteen minutes prior to serving, add the pasta. Once the pasta is cooked al dente, soup is ready.
  • Notes: I alternate between chicken bouillon and chicken broth. I also find it great to mix the two. You can also add celery and saute with the onions. Chicken can also be substituted with rotisserie style chicken, just add midway through the simmering. Also, sometimes, I add homemade Matzoh balls, made as per directions from the mix.
