How to make it

  • In a large skillet, combine balsamic vinegar and water. Place bratwurst in the water; cover, and simmer 10 minutes. Be sure the water is only simmering, not boiling.
  • Add the sliced onions and continue simmering, uncovered, until the water evaporates and the onion is tender.
  • Serve on a bun or with mashed potatoes.
