How to make it

  • Lightly muddle the mint, sugar, lime juice and rum in the bottom of a tall glass using a wooden spoon.
  • Once the mint is crushed and the sugar is dissolved, strain into an ice filled cocktail shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for 5 seconds.
  • Fill the glass with crushed ice, and strain the drink into the glass.
  • Add a splash of seltzer and garnish with a slice of lime and a fresh mint leaf.

    You can use white or gold. I prefer white.

    Looks like a true refresher. I have the organic mint in my garden. Darn stuff is taking over and we mow it to keep it under control. I'm not sure about the organic rum. I live in a dry county and the nearest spirits store is 45 miles one-way. IS that white, gold or what kind of rum?
