Strawberry Pizza Pie

A dessert pizza made with strawberries (no need for the sauce and cheese!
Ingredients
- For the crust: shopping list
- 1 ½ cups flour shopping list
- 1 ½ sticks butter or margarine; melted shopping list
- ½ to 1 cup finely chopped pecans shopping list
- 1 tablespoon sugar shopping list
- For the filling: shopping list
- 1 8-ounce package cream cheese; softened shopping list
- 2 cups confectioner's sugar shopping list
- 1 8-ounce container whipped topping shopping list
- 1 pint whole strawberries shopping list
- For the topping: shopping list
- 1 pint chopped strawberries shopping list
- ¾ cup sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup water shopping list
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch shopping list
- 2-3 drops red food coloring; optional shopping list
How to make it
- Mix crust ingredients.
- Press into pizza pan or large pie pan.
- Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool.
- Make filling by creaming cheese with sugar.
- Fold in whipped topping. Spread on cold crust.
- Arrange 1 pint whole strawberries (without hulls) on top of cream cheese mixture (You may slice the berries if you prefer).
- In a saucepan, combine all topping ingredients and cook until thick. Spread on top of pie. Refrigerate.
