Hot Dog Green Relish Recipe
This is awesome. I like to make a few jars of this when green tomatoes are fresh in the summer and eat this all year long. Great relish for hamburgers or hotdogs.

Ingredients
  • 6 medium green tomatoes cored and finely chopped
  • 1/2 pound cabbage cored and finely chopped
  • 3 medium green sweet peppers seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 medium red sweet peppers seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 large white onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons pickling salt
  • 1-1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons mustard seed
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1-1/4 cup cider vinegar

Directions
  1. Place vegetables in large bowl.
  2. Sprinkle with pickling salt then stir well and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Combine sugar, mustard seed, celery seed and turmeric in a large pot.
  4. Stir in vinegar and 1/2 cup water.
  5. Cook stirring until mixture comes to boiling and sugar dissolves.
  6. Rinse vegetables in colander under running water then drain and add to pot.
  7. Cook and stir until mixture boils then remove from heat.
  8. Ladle hot relish into hot sterilized canning jars leaving 1/2" head space.
  9. Wipe jar rims and adjust lids then process in boiling water canner for 10 minutes.
