English Toffee

- 2 cup sugar shopping list
- 4 sticks butter shopping list
- 2 half-pound bars of Hershey's Symphony milk chocolate shopping list
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Cover a large cookie cookie with foil, grease foil.
- Sprinkle chopped pecans on pan if desired.
- break up chocolate into a glass bowl, ready to melt quickly in the microwave.
- Melt butter in a Dutch Oven. Do NOT use teflon!
- Add the sugar and stir constantly with a wooden spoon.
- The butter and sugar will slowly combine, separate, and combine again.
- Once combined for good and a toffee color (around 330 degrees on a candy thermometer), pour into cookie sheet and spread it out.
- Microwave the chocolate for 2 minutes, or melt as desired.
- Once ready, spread over the top of the toffee.
- Let cool in refrigerator .
- Once cool, break into pieces to serve.
