How to make it

  • Brown pork in canola oil in a large pot.
  • Add water to fill 2/3 of pot.
  • Add chili powder, garlic, cumin and salt
  • Simmer over medium heat for 1.5 hours or until pork is tender.
  • Add rinsed, drained hominy.
  • Simmer 45 minutes.
  • In last 20 minutes of simmering, add mexican oregano.
  • Serve with garnishes
