- 1/2 cup - chili powder shopping list
- 1 lb - pork roast or pork butt (cubed) shopping list
- 3 large cans of yellow hominy (drained, rinsed) shopping list
- 1 tbsp - Mexican oregano shopping list
- 4 cloves of fresh garlic shopping list
- 1 tbsp - cumin shopping list
- salt - how much? Totally up to you. shopping list
- Garnish: shopping list
- Chopped onions shopping list
- cilantro shopping list
- Chopped cabbage shopping list
- Sliced serrano peppers shopping list
- lemon/Lime shopping list
- corn tortillas shopping list
How to make it
- Brown pork in canola oil in a large pot.
- Add water to fill 2/3 of pot.
- Add chili powder, garlic, cumin and salt
- Simmer over medium heat for 1.5 hours or until pork is tender.
- Add rinsed, drained hominy.
- Simmer 45 minutes.
- In last 20 minutes of simmering, add mexican oregano.
- Serve with garnishes
