From kcmm 12 years agoIngredients
- 20 grams of fresh basil ( 5 sprigs ) leaves only shopping list
- hand full of walnuts shopping list
- 5 cloves of garlic shopping list
- Pot full of water shopping list
- salt shopping list
- enough spaghetti for the amount of people you are making this for shopping list
- **(for one serving I usually use a 100 to 150 grams)** shopping list
- oil (use the oil of your choice, olive oil, vegetable, corn it depends on you) shopping list
- cheese (I recommend Pecorino Romano its not too salty and its great with this recipe) shopping list
How to make it
- Put pot of water to boil
- Wash basil leaves, peel garlic cloves and put on cutting board
- chop until finely chopped.
- Add Walnuts and chop some more until walnut pieces are tiny. (but not too tiny see picture provided)
- put into a container of choice
- Add enough oil to cover the mixture and set aside
- **(if you do not use it all, it can be frozen for a later date)**
- when water starts to bubble (boil) add one tablespoon of oil to the water
- add the spaghetti and salt (water need to be very salty) stir occasionally
- **the oil in the water is so spaghetti will not stick together**
- When pasta is done ( 7 to 9 min) drain and put in a bowl, spoon pesto mixture and blend. (when serving this pasta make sure to stir it up before because the pesto goes to the bottom)
- garnish with the cheese and a tbsp of pesto on top.
- ENJOY!!
