Easy Hummus

- Basic: shopping list
- 1, 15 oz can of chickpeas, rinsed and drained shopping list
- 1 fresh clove of garlic shopping list
- juice from a fresh lemon shopping list
- 1-2 tbs extra virgin olive oil shopping list
- 1/4 cup sesame tahini or as desired shopping list
- very hot water to thin mixture if needed shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- More olive oil for presentation shopping list
- Other Additions for variations: add as you prefer shopping list
- chopped roasted red bell peppers shopping list
- roasted garlic shopping list
- powdered cumin shopping list
- chopped cilantro shopping list
- pesto sauce shopping list
- hot sauce shopping list
- chipotle powder shopping list
- smoked paprika shopping list
- coconut oil or oriental sesame seed oil shopping list
- chopped jalapeno peppers shopping list
- chopped pitted olives shopping list
- Adjvar ( roasted eggplant with peppers ) shopping list
- Or whatever you like shopping list
How to make it
- For a basic hummus, into a power blender or processor place the lemon juice, olive oil, garlic , chickpeas, tahini and process until smooth and creamy
- Add hot water as needed to thin mixture
- Salt and pepper to taste
- If you want additions, stir them in now
- To serve: place prepared hummus on a plate or bowl, make a well in the center and pour in the olive oil in center
- Serve with fresh pita bread, chips, cut up veges etc.
- Note: basic recipe multiples well for larger crowds
