How to make it

  • Sauce:
  • In a dutch oven or a deep skillet, saute onions and garlic in oil over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  • Add crushed tomatoes and spices. Mix well and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Stir in tomato paste and 4 cans of water. Simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Meatballs:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
  • Mix well using your hands.
  • Form mixture into meatballs. Make them whatever size you prefer.
  • Brown meatballs in a 350 degree oven for 8 minutes.
  • Drain, then add meatballs to sauce.
  • Simmer for 1 hour.
  • Serve hot over pasta.
  • Note:
  • I use a combination of ground beef and pork sausage for the meatballs. Experiment with whatever meat combination you like. Enjoy!
