Polka Dot Brownies

Easy, fabulous way to doctor up a brownie mix! I find most brownie mixes to be too sugary and not nearly "chocolaty" enough; I deepened the chocolate flavor with the addition of baking cocoa. Cheesecake dots on a pure chocolate brownie, topped with toasted walnuts.
Ingredients
- 1 box brownie mix (I used Duncan Hines milk chocolate Chunk brownie mix, 17 oz) shopping list
- 2 T baking cocoa shopping list
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 t. real vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease an 8"x8" pan.
- Pour brownie mix in bowl, add baking cocoa and prepare brownie batter as instructed on box.
- In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and sugar and vanilla.
- Drop spoonfuls of cream-cheese mixture onto brownies (I used a small cookie scoop).
- Sprinkle toasted walnuts on top of brownie batter, around the cheesecake "dots".
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Cool and cut into squares.
