- 1 lb lean ground beef shopping list
- 1 lb italian sausage (I like hot) shopping list
- 2 29 oz cans crushed tomatoes shopping list
- 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups chopped onion shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped celery shopping list
- 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper shopping list
- 1/4 cup chili powder shopping list
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon white sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons ground cayenne pepper shopping list
- 2 cups canned red beans, drained and rinsed shopping list
How to make it
- Place ground beef and sausage in a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
- Add all ingredients to a large kettle. Bring to boil. Add meat and reduce heat to simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
