How to make it

  • Preheat the oven to 160C [320F]
  • Put white sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and egg yolks on a bowl and whisk up well.
  • Pour in melted butter and mix everything.
  • Pour in the milk, sifted flour, baking powder and make cake batter.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and floured [or lined with baking paper] 20x20cm [~8x8inches] baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Let it cool a little.
  • Coconut Topping

  • Whish egg whites with salt while gradually pouring in white and vanilla sugar.
  • Mix in dried, shredded coconut and spread it all over the top of cooled cake.
  • Bake for another 15-20 minutes in 140C [284F].
