Pat's Large Oatmeal Cookies

Coveted family recipe from neighbor in Marin County California. My mom used to make these for brownie meetings. Use a large bowl!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. margarine shopping list
- 1 lb. of brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup white sugar shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 2 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 3 cups of flour shopping list
- 2 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tsp. cloves (or more) shopping list
- 1 tsp. ginger (or more) shopping list
- 4 cups old fashioned oats shopping list
- 1-3 cups raisins shopping list
- 1 pkg. chocolate chips or other kind of chip shopping list
- 1 cup of nuts, if desired shopping list
- Couple of globs of molasses, if you have it shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees and grease cookie sheets.
- In the mixer, cream margarine, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients in thirds, right from the sifter. Blend in oats and raisins, chocolate and nuts last, as to not over mix and grind ingredients.
- Start cookies on lower rack of oven, moving to upper rack for last half of baking.
