Indian Beans

- 1 can of beans, pinto, black or your favorite shopping list
- 1 onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 carrot, sliced thin shopping list
- 2 ribs celery, sliced shopping list
- 1/2 cup chicken broth shopping list
- 2 tbls peanut or safflower oil shopping list
- 1 tsp. pepper shopping list
- 2 tbsp. turmeric shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1 tbsp. ground cumin shopping list
- 2 tbsp. ground coriander shopping list
- 1 tbsp. celery seed shopping list
- 4 cloves crushed garlic (optional) shopping list
- soy sauce (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Saute onions in oil until browned.
- Add beans and vegetables and chicken broth, turn down heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often (beans burn easily).
- Add spices and soy sauce to taste. Mix in and simmer an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
