Blackberry Cobbler

- Crust: shopping list
- 1 T. granulated sugar shopping list
- 3/4 t. baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 t. salt shopping list
- 1/3 c. shortening shopping list
- 1/2 c. buttermilk shopping list
- 1 1/3 c. flour shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 1 1/2 pounds blackberries (18 oz.) shopping list
- 1 1/3 c. granulated sugar shopping list
- 3 1/2 T. flour shopping list
- 1 1/3 t. vanilla shopping list
- hint of almond extract shopping list
- Topping: shopping list
- 1/2 T. melted butter shopping list
- 2 1/2 t. granulated sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Crust:
- Mix sugar, baking powder, salt, shortening, buttermilk, and 3/4 c. flour to form a sticky dough. Spread the remaining flour on a work surface and knead dough until most of the flour is incorporated and dough is manageable. Roll dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into large strips. Cover blackberry filling with dough. overlapping pieces, patchwork style.
- Filling:
- Mix all ingredients together and pout into prepared (greased) pan.
- Topping:
- Drizzle melted butter over dough and sprinkle with sugar. Bake on 350° until crust is golden-brown and filling is bubbly; about 50-55 minutes.
