- 2 1/2 cups (1 19-oz) can cooked butter beans (large lima beans) or cannellini beans, drained and rinsed shopping list
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice shopping list
- 3 tbsp canola oil shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic shopping list
- ¼ cup water shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all the spices in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle and grind to a fine powder.
- In a food processor, combine all the remaining ingredients with the spices and puree, adding water as needed until desired consistency is reached (aim for something similar to hummus, remembering it will thicken just slightly upon chilling).
- Chill at least 2 hours before serving - this allows the flavours to blend and the mixture to thicken.
- Makes 2 cups, 16 (2-tbsp) servings
