Mississippi Roast

- 1 Top Round or chuck roast, size can vary shopping list
- 1 packet of hidden valley ranch dressing mix shopping list
- 1 / 2 packet of au jus seasoning shopping list
- 4 pepperoncini shopping list
- 3 cloves garlic shopping list
- 1 stick butter shopping list
- 1 tsp fresh ground pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Place roast into a crock pot and top with all other ingredients. Place lid and turn heat setting on High for about an hour or so, then turn it on the 'Keep Warm' setting for 8 or 9 hours. If you have to be gone all day, or you want to cook it overnight while you sleep, then have it for dinner that night, this works out perfectly. I tried adding vegetables one time and it was not as good...this roast is better just as described and cook the vegetables on the side. You can substitute oil for the butter, i sometimes do half butter half olive oil. The slower you cook it, the better it is. Go easy on the Au Jus, it can make it too salty to use the whole packet.
