Elegant Poached Pears

- 4 ripe pears ex: Bosc shopping list
- 3 cups water shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- juice from 1/2 fresh lemon shopping list
- pinch of saffron ( do not omit ) shopping list
- 1 vanilla bean pod, cut open shopping list
How to make it
- Peel pears, cut of stem top and slice in half vertically
- Scoop out seeds with a spoon
- In a heavy duty pan add water sugar, place in pears evenly.
- Add, lemon juice, saffron and vanilla bean
- Bring to a boil
- Simmer covered until pears are fork tender but not mushy- maybe 15 minutes or so
- Let pears cool in their liquid
- Cover and chill well prior to serving
