John Wayne Chili

- 3 pound's ground beef shopping list
- 2 green bell pepper diced shopping list
- 1 jar roasted red pepper diced with the juice shopping list
- 1 yellow onion diced shopping list
- 1 red onion diced shopping list
- 3 cans red kidney beans shopping list
- 2 cans light red kidney beans shopping list
- 2 cans diced tomatoes with the juice shopping list
- 1 can tomato paste shopping list
- 2 cans tomato sauce shopping list
- 1/2 bottle BBQ sauce shopping list
- 1 can of beer shopping list
- 2 cans of V-8 juice shopping list
- 1/2 cup chili powder shopping list
- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 3 tbsp cumin shopping list
- 2 tsp red pepper flakes shopping list
- 2 tsp cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1 cup BBQ rub shopping list
- 2 tbsp olive oil shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium stock pot brown and drain ground beef
- In the same stock pot, add the olive oil, onions, and the bell peppers. Saute until onions are transparent.
- Then add the ground beef and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add all the dry ingredients and cook for another five minutes, so the spices are well incorporated with the meat and vegetables.
- Add BBQ sauce, tomato paste. Tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes.
- Add the V-8 juice, cook for 10 minutes
- Add the beans, open can of beer and add it to the chili.
- Simmer for an hour.
- Garnish with shredded cheese and sour cream if you like.
