How to make it

  • Pre -Heat oven to 180c/350f/gas 4 to 5;
  • Grease an Oven baking dish;
  • Melt 4 tbsp butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat;
  • Add mushrooms and sauté, stirring occasionally, until browned and tender;
  • Add spring onions, stir in well, and continue cooking for 1 minute;
  • Stir in the flour until well mixed;
  • Gradually stir in the milk, stirring constantly;
  • Continue cooking, stirring constantly to avoid lumps until thickened;
  • Add salt, to taste, and pepper;
  • Stir in the tuna and peas and mix well;
  • Add the linguini and mix in well;
  • Pour the mixture into the baking dish and sprinkle over with Parmesan;
  • Melt the remaining 2tbsp butter and toss with the bread crumbs;
  • Sprinkle the crumbs over the top of the oven mixture;
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.

    Delicious!! I had to sub the milk and butter for lactose free Earth balance spread and lactose free milk.Did not add the parm. cheese and it was very tasty. Next time i make it i will double the milk sauce, personal preference.

    I have made this recipe a few times, we really like it. I used lactose free milk and it made no difference in the taste according to my husband. We had a salad to go with it.
