How to make it

  • Add a wee bit of lard to a pot and gently cook the onions until soft;
  • Add the beef or other and salt and pepper.
  • Layer over with tattie slices and cover with the stock to taste (depending on how moist you prefer the meal);
  • Suggestion - add a wee bit and top up as required.
  • Simmer on the hob for about an hour or cook in the oven at 190c/380f/gas 5 for about 50 minutes.
