Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In another large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. One at a time, beat in eggs. Stir in vanilla. Gradually stir in flour mixture just until combined. Stir in chips and nuts, if using. Roll dough into 1-1/2 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake about 10-12 mins. or until edges are just beginning to brown.
  • Note: Bread flour makes these nice and thick in my possessed oven. If you have a "normal" oven, you can use all-purpose. Since my husband doesn’t like nuts in anything, I omit them for him and add extra chocolate chips. For a tasty variation, sometimes I use mini M&Ms instead of the chocolate chips (there are 1-3/4 C. mini M&Ms in a 10.8 oz. pkg.) and add 1 C. chocolate chips in place of the nuts - yum!
