How to make it

  • Melt butter in saucepan, over low/ medium heat;
  • Gradually add flour, stirring constantly and cook, stirring continuously, 1 to 2 minutes;
  • Remove from heat and add milk, whisking continuously ensuring no lumps;
  • Return to a medium heat and bring to boil, stirring continuously for 3 to 4 minutes or until sauce thickens to consistency desired;
  • Add salt, black pepper and nutmeg to taste;
  • Serve hot.
