How to make it

  • Toast seeds on a baking sheet in a 350 degree F (175 degree C) oven for 4 minutes; let cool completely. This step is optional. The seeds can be added untoasted.
  • Place ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
  • Select Basic bread cycle, and Start.
  • *I toast the seeds in a dry frying pan, about 5 minutes. Shake frequently.
  • ** I no longer have a bread maker. These are the instructions without one:
  • Measure water and add the honey and yeast. Mix well and set aside until foamy,
  • Measure everything but the seeds into the bowl of a K.A.
  • When yeast mixture is foamy, add to dry mixture and mix with a hook until the dough forms a ball and leaves the bottom of the bowl.
  • Spread the dough, and add cooled seeds.
  • Turn the mixer back on and mix again, same as above. If the dough does not form a ball add a little water, 1/2 tbs at a time.
  • Knead for at least 5 minutes.
  • Add a little oil to the bottom of a clean bowl, place dough on the oil and turn to coat.
  • Place in a warm place, covered with plastic wrap or a clean tea towel and allow to rise until double in size, about 1 hour.
  • Punch down and knead 10-12 times.
  • Form a loaf and place in a greased bread pan.
  • Place in warm area until double in size, about 1 hour.
  • Bake in a preheated oven 375ยบ for 30 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
