Traditional East Coast Fish Cakes

                    - 1 pound salt cod, freshened and flaked shopping list
- 3 cups mashed potatoes shopping list
- 1 onion, finely chopped, shopping list
- 1/4 tsp pepper shopping list
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder shopping list
- 1-2 tsp summer savory shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped green onion, optional shopping list
- 1/2 cup bacon, crumbled, optional shopping list
- oil or butter for frying shopping list
How to make it 
                    - Combine all ingredients and mix well.
- Form into 12 patties.
- Place on a plate and put in the fridge for at least 20 mins.
- Heat oil or butter and fry patties until heated through and golden brown on both sides.
- Be very gentle when turning as they will break.
- ***To freshen cod place in fresh water to cover, overnight or for at least 12 hours. Drain and replace water occasionally.
