this is time consuming but is easy all the same just a bit of baby sitting and stirring. My Grandmother got these started with us long ago. and it has been a tradition in our family since then.
Ingredients
- 4 cups cheerios cereal shopping list
- 4 cups pretzel sticks shopping list
- 4 cups rice chex cereal shopping list
- 4 cups wheat chex cereal shopping list
- 4 cups mixed nuts shopping list
- 1 stick butter or margarine or ½ cup vegetable or canola oil Not olive oil. shopping list
- ½ cup Worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 to 3 tablespoons garlic powder to taste shopping list
- 3 to 4 teaspoons hot sauce to taste shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Preheat oven to 200.
- 2. In a small saucepan melt butter over low heat and add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and hot sauce. Mix well. Remove from heat and let cool a little.
- 3. In a large roasting pan, add all cereals, pretzels and nuts. Stir.
- 4. Pour butter mixture into a clean condiment squeeze bottle. Put top on and sprinkle a few tablespoons over cereal mixture, (Be careful the warm sauce mix will squirt out top as you lift bottle.) Stir cereal mixture well to distribute sauce, Add a few tablespoons more and stir again, until everything has some sauce on it. For strong flavor really wet the cereal mixture.
- 5. Bake at 200 degrees stirring every 15 to 30 minutes to help the mixture dry. Once dry and crunchy it’s done. remove from oven and cool then bag.
