How to make it

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  • Whisk the eggs, yolks, vanilla and 1/4 cup of the milk together in a small bowl.
  • Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt, and mix on low for about 30 seconds with electric mixer.
  • Add the butter and the remaining 1 cup of milk to the flour mixture and with the mixer on low, blend together.
  • Then beat on medium until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  • Add the egg mixture in 3 additions, scraping down the side of the bowl and mixing only until well blended
  • Divide the batter in 3 bowls and tint with a few drops of food color for desired effect.
  • I chose, pink, green and yellow
  • Place in desired pan ( 10 x 14 ) or cupcake tins that are paper lined
  • Bake 15-18 minutes for cupcake and 20-30 minutes for the cake, testing with a toothpick in center till done.
  • When cake is cool, frost and decorate as desired
  • Freeze well.
