How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • In a bowl whip eggs until foamy. Stir in both sugars, corn syrup, salt, and maple flavoring.
  • Mix in 1/2 the pecans and pour into pie crust
  • Sprinkle remainingpecanson top and cover lightly with foil.
  • Place on bottom rack of oven and bake 25-30 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to 300 degrees , remove foil, and continue to bake an additional 35-45 minutes or until set( no longer wiggly)
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  • Brush with bourbon glaze and serve with bourbon maple whipped cream
  • Bourbon glaze
  • In saucepan, melt butter.
  • Stir in maple flavoring and sugar and bring to boil.
  • Reduce heat and stir in bourbon.
  • Stir and remove from heat,
  • Brush over cooled or slightly cooled pie
  • Bourbon maple whipped cream
  • In bowl, whip cream and sugar together until peaks form.
  • Slowly add in bourbon and maple flavoring while continuing to whip to incorporate.
  • Do not over beat.
  • Serve with pie
