How to make it

  • Heat oil and butter on medium high heat.
  • Add onion, sugar and black pepper
  • Cook until onion is translucent.
  • Add pumpkin and broth. Mix well. Turn heat down to low and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  • Taste if it is not the pumpkin pie flavour you wish add some ground cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and all spice but do it a pinch at a time. Mix wait a couple of minutes and taste again.
  • Add milk and turn the temp to almost off on the stove. You just want a small amount of heat. If the soup boils the milk will separate yes it is still great flavour but does not look that appealing.
