- 3 lbs red potatoes shopping list
- 5 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 6 tablespoons flour shopping list
- 4 cups milk shopping list
- 2 crushed garlic cloves shopping list
- 2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1 dash cayenne pepper shopping list
- 2 cups cheddar cheese shopping list
- 1⁄3 cup parmesan cheese, grated shopping list
How to make it
- Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Boil potatoes until just tender, 20-25 minutes and drain. Pat dry with paper towel.
- Peel and dice potatoes into roughly 1/2 inch pieces. Put potatoes in large round casserole baking dish.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and stir while cooking for 1-2 minutes.
- Whisk in milk and add garlic. Season with salt and cayenne pepper.
- Stir in cheddar cheese and all but 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese.
- Add potatoes to sauce and stir to mix evenly. Pour into casserole dish.
- Sprinkle remaining parmesan cheese over top.
- Bake casserole 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender and dish is bubbling and lightly brown on top.
- Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
