Lemon Meringue Dessert

- MERINGUE shopping list
- 4 egg whites shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp cream of tartar shopping list
- Lemon Filling shopping list
- 4 yolks shopping list
- 1 T. cornstarch shopping list
- 2 T. lemon juice shopping list
- 1/2 c. hot water shopping list
- 1/2 c sugar shopping list
- Whipped Topping shopping list
- 2 cups heavy cream (I subbed with coolwhip) shopping list
- 2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 2 T. powdered sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Meringue Beat together adding sugar very gradually 1 T at a time. When stiff, spread in a greased 9 X 13 " pan. Bake at 300 for 1 hr.
- Set aside to cool.
- Filling combine ingredients in a saucepan on top of the stove Medium-high. Stir together until thick. Set aside to cool a bit.
- Whipped Topping In a ixing bowl beat cream adding powdered sugar
- and vanilla until soft peaks.
- To assemble Place meringue on a pretty plate. Spoon the lemon filling over the meringue, and dollop the whipped cream or cool whip on top of the filling. Cool for several hours.
