How to make it

  • Meringue Beat together adding sugar very gradually 1 T at a time. When stiff, spread in a greased 9 X 13 " pan. Bake at 300 for 1 hr.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • Filling combine ingredients in a saucepan on top of the stove Medium-high. Stir together until thick. Set aside to cool a bit.
  • Whipped Topping In a ixing bowl beat cream adding powdered sugar
  • and vanilla until soft peaks.
  • To assemble Place meringue on a pretty plate. Spoon the lemon filling over the meringue, and dollop the whipped cream or cool whip on top of the filling. Cool for several hours.
