How to make it

  • Cut tofu in block into slices
  • Mix all other ingredients together
  • Add the tofu slices
  • Marinate for a few hours
  • Add slices and some sauce in a heated pan
  • Cook with vegetables in the pan at medium heat for a few minutes (6-7 mins. or until done)

    I know this is long after this recipe was posted, but I just wanted to say that this is my favorite way to prepare tofu. I freeze, defrost, and press it, and cut it into cubes. I use it in my vegan mac n cheese. I juice my own beets because I've had trouble finding beet juice in stores. My boyfriend who doesn't like tofu, likes it this way! Thanks so much for the recipe!

    What type of tofu do you use? Is it better to freeze it first? I am guessing firm tofu would work best? If it tastes close to ham, I would love to try it out.
