How to make it

  • 1.Preheat the oven to 400°.
  • 2. Blind bake the pie crust for 5 minutes.
  • 3. Turn the oven down to 350°.
  • 4.Beat the brown sugar, flour, salt, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and bourbon on low speed until smooth (you don’t want foam).
  • 5. Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips.
  • 6. Pour the mixture into the partially baked crust.
  • 7. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the center is almost set (it will finish as it cools).
  • 8. Remove to cooling racks.
  • 9. Just before serving, whip the cream to soft peaks.
  • 10. Add the powdered sugar and beat to stiff peaks.
  • 11. Stir in the bourbon and serve over the pie.

Baking just ain't my thing Twill but my wife may be up for this. Just so you'll know, if you're planning a trip to Kiwi wait at least another month. It's still colder than buggery there now.
