How to make it

  • Heat butter in a 12" heavy skillet over moderately high heat until the foam subsides and most of butter is golden brown. Add corn, season w/ salt and pepper, and cook, stirring, until tender, about 4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in basil.

Wow, adding basil to the corn must give it a lovely flavor! I'll have to try this. Thank you for posting your recipe!

I'm sure you could, but you only cook it for 4 minutes in the pan so be careful w/ the grill heat. Let me know how it works out for you! ~S

Chef Sharon, After browning the butter in the pan could you pour that on ears of corn and grill the corn in a foil?

*Everyone knows what corn on the cob w/ butter tastes like, and it's hard to beat. But browning the butter and then sautéing corn kernels in it ratchets up the flavor, while adding shreds of basil at the last minute keeps the dish fresh and tasting of summer. (This was part of the recipe)
