Penne Pasta With Ham

- 1 pound penne pasta shopping list
- 2-3 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 2 nice size pats of Earth Balance( butter) shopping list
- 1 medium onion chopped shopping list
- 2-3 cloves garlic chopped shopping list
- 2 cups diced ham shopping list
- zest of a medium lemon(about 2 tablespoons) shopping list
- fresh parsley, chopped if desired shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste. shopping list
How to make it
- Cook pasta in a big pot with about five quarts of water, salt the water after it comes to a boil then add the pasta
- While the pasta cooks heat oil in a big pan on medium high heat
- Add a pat of butter, when the butter is melted add the onion, sauté for five minutes
- Add garlic and sauté for two minutes
- Add ham and heat through
- When pasta is cooked, drain and add to the frying pan and stir
- Add the lemon zest
- Add parsley if using
- Add the other pat of butter, stir until glossy, adding more butter if needed.
- Serve with a tossed salad and fresh Italian bread.
