How to make it

  • For the Gingerbread
  • In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar together.
  • Add molasses and eggs beat thoroughly
  • In another bowl put flour,ginger,baking soda and mix till combined
  • Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternating with the milk.
  • Turn into a greased 13x9x3 baking dish or use parchment paper.
  • Bake 25-30 min. or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Lemon sauce
  • Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a sauce pan and mix well.
  • Stir in boiling water stirring constantly over med. heat
  • Lower heat and simmer stirring until sauce is thickened and clear
  • Stir in butter, lemon rind and juice
  • Pour over warm ginger bread.
  • I do not make the sauce till ready to eat the ginger bread, the family likes it warm...
