Plump Gingerbread With Lemon Sauce

- Heat oven to 350 shopping list
- For the Gingerbread shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup molasses shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon ground ginger shopping list
- 2 cups of flour shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon of baking soda shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
- For the Lemon Sauce shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup boiling water shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh lemon rind shopping list
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- For the Gingerbread
- In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar together.
- Add molasses and eggs beat thoroughly
- In another bowl put flour,ginger,baking soda and mix till combined
- Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternating with the milk.
- Turn into a greased 13x9x3 baking dish or use parchment paper.
- Bake 25-30 min. or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Lemon sauce
- Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a sauce pan and mix well.
- Stir in boiling water stirring constantly over med. heat
- Lower heat and simmer stirring until sauce is thickened and clear
- Stir in butter, lemon rind and juice
- Pour over warm ginger bread.
- I do not make the sauce till ready to eat the ginger bread, the family likes it warm...
