Six Week Bran Muffins

- 4 c. Bran Flakes cereal shopping list
- 2 c. All Bran cereal shopping list
- 2 c. boiling water shopping list
- 1 c. butter or margarine shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. white sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 4 c. buttermilk or sour milk shopping list
- 1/4 c. molasses shopping list
- 5 c. flour shopping list
- 2 T. baking soda shopping list
- 1 T. baking powder shopping list
- 1 t. salt shopping list
- 2 c. raisins shopping list
How to make it
- 1. In large bowl put cereals and boiling water. Let stand.
- 2. In mixing bowl cream butter and sugars together.
- 3. Beat in eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
- 4. Mix in buttermilk.
- 5. Add molasses.
- 6. Stir in cereal mixture.
- 7. In another bowl put flour, soda, baking powder, salt and raisins. Mix thoroughly.
- 8. Add to batter. Stir to combine.
- 9. Store in refrigerator. It will keep for six weeks.
- 10. As required, fill greased muffin cups 3/4 full.
- 11. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in a 400 degree oven. Remove from pan after 5 minutes.
- 12. Variation: Brans may be switched to use 2 c. bran flakes and 4 c. All Bran cereal. Or you may use natural bran to replace one cereal.
