Ingredients

How to make it

  • Place ham bone in Dutch oven and add water. Bring to a boil and then simmer until the ham falls off the bone, about 45 minutes. Remove bone to a cutting board and cut large pieces into smaller bite-sized pieces. Return ham pieces to Dutch oven.
  • Add chopped onion, garlic, and spices. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add the cans of beans and simmer another 10-15 minutes.
  • Add the spinach to the pot and stir. Once the spinach is wilted add the heavy cream.
  • Add more seasonings if desired. If a thicker broth is desired, make a slurry of flour and water and stir into the pot to thicken.

Yum . This sounds wonderful . Gonna try for sure. Do we drain the beans before adding?
