How to make it

  • Cook potatoes in a pot of boiling water until tender;
  • Drain and set aside in a large bowl - keep warm BUT reserve water in the pot;
  • Add chopped cabbage to the pot with reserved water and cook 3 minutes until tenderish but still has bite;
  • Meanwhile, in a frying pan, melt the butter and gently fry the onions until soft and golden;
  • Mash potatoes and add the fried onions with butter gravy and cabbage;
  • Add milk, salt and pepper and beat until fluffy.
