How to make it

  • If you are using left over meats, chop small or ground in mixer
  • Put some oil in a pan and add one onion chopped and the pepper
  • Cook until soft add all the seasonings stir all until well mixed
  • Add the meat and stir it all up making sure it all mixed together, add a bit of water if it looks a bit dry and cook until all is well mixed
  • Tortillas:
  • Heat a pan in high heat until it is hot, put a tortilla on it and when the sides start to flatten , turn.... and as soon as it bubbles or heats up take it out, place in between a tea towel to keep moist or they will dry up, lower heat to medium to heat the rest of the tortillas. Heat all of them up before you start filling them.
  • Once you are done, place a tortilla on the counter or plate and use one tbsp of filling and roll......pin with a toothpick side ways (like you see in the picture) it will make it easy to remove when they are done. Once done filling all of the tortillas , fry them until golden brown. ( because they are fried, you need to make sure there is no liquid inside, or else it will start popping in the oil so please use caution when frying)
  • Salad topping:
  • 1 onion cut up into this slices
  • 2 tomatoes cut up into thin slices
  • Add salt pepper, the juice of one lemon and 1 tbsp of chopped coriander a bit of oil and mix, shred some lettuce to add on top of the flautas. Top with a tsp of sour cream!!
