Cedar Plank Salmon

- 2 Salmon steaks or Filets, about 1" thick shopping list
- 2 tbsp. Extra-Virgin Olive oil shopping list
- 1 tbsp. minced garlic shopping list
- 2 tbsp. finely chopped shallots or red onion shopping list
- Coarsely crushed black pepper shopping list
- Smoked sea salt shopping list
- Fresh dill sprigs shopping list
- 1/2 lemon, cut in half shopping list
- 1 Cedar plank large enough to fit two salmon steaks, about 1/2" thick shopping list
How to make it
- Soak Cedar plank in water all day. I use a large rectangular dish and put something heavy on top of the plank so it stays immersed.
- Preheat BBQ to 350F.
- Rub salmon steaks all over with Olive oil and garlic.
- Top salmon with a light sprinkling of onion or shallots and a few sprigs of fresh dill.
- Squeeze a little fresh lemon juice over all.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place plank containing salmon on grill.
- Cook with the cover closed for 15-20 min. or until salmon is cooked through and juicy.
- Serve.
