How to make it

  • Trim off and discard green ends of the scallions then slice the white parts very thinly.
  • Peel and finely chop the ginger.
  • Halve and seed the chilies and slice finely.
  • Finely chop the garlic.
  • Stir together hoisin sauce, tomato paste, scallions, ginger, chilies, garlic and sesame oil.
  • Serve within 1 hour.
